UPDATE: Here’s the smart phone version of the Riff Off Wheel.
Those crazy a cappella kids in Pitch Perfect put a picoprojector to excellent use at The Riff Off.
If you have a picoprojector — or even a regular Optoma projector — you can play the Riff Off game, which is one of the best examples of how a picoprojector can score big as an interactive entertainment device. It’s problem has been that there’s so little game content available.
I received so many questions from readers about where to find the game after I ran the original article on the movie’s Riff Off that we at Designing with LEDs came up with a spinning wheel complete with the original song categories.
Want to play? It couldn’t be easier: Click on the wheel to start it spinning. Click again to stop it and see which category you’ve hit. You don’t really need a projector at all — but for a midnight riff-off in the quad, it’s nice to be able to project it on a concrete block wall.
If you have comments or suggestions for the Riff Off wheel, shoot me an email at mconner[at]designingwithleds.com. Thanks!
